Corrosion diagnosis

Following a fire, products coming from combustion and extinction products are likely to cause corrosion problems. Measuring the rate of corrosive pollutants allows to put in place the best decontamination process to remove pollutants from surfaces and check their state after decontamination or after smoke spreading through ventilation ducts.

CNPP offers assistance in:

  • Taking on-site samples from the surfaces;
  • Determining the nature of corrosive compounds which could be present;
  • Analysing the samples in laboratory in order to research and quantify the corrosive compounds present (notably halides);
  • Evaluating the risk of corrosion in goods and equipment.
