Infrared thermal imaging

A study carried out by the FFSA (French Federation of Insurance Companies) led to technical specifications for thermal imaging cameras. These are used to monitor electric facilities in accordance with the D19 technical document.

These specifications are geared around:

  • the functions of the camera software;
  • the camera’s operational performance in terms of monitoring facilities using infrared thermal imaging (UTR – Uniformity of the Thermal Response, and GRP – Geometric Resolving Power).

After delivery of the assessment report of a new model of camera in accordance with the specifications, an attestation or a CNPP Approval compliance may be issued.
For the cameras already in use, an annual assessment may be carried out for the delivery of a periodic attestation prouving the durability of the camea's initial performence level overtime.
