Discontinuance of Business

Operators of ICPEs subject to declaration or authorisation must notify the Prefect of any discontinuance of business, whether total or partial, at least three months beforehand.

The notice of discontinuance of business is an administrative document, the purpose of which is to inform the Prefect on the forthcoming discontinuance of business, to briefly describe the site and its environment and to trace any pollution caused by the site of which the operator is aware.

For sites subject to an operating license, a Management Plan must also be submitted. The purpose of the Management Plan is to describe the measures to be implemented that will restore the site to a state compatible with whatever future use has been decided for it.

The CNPP is capable of assisting you in drafting the notification of discontinuance of business. The CNPP does not produce Management Plans, but an external subcontractor can be suggested.
